    Developed in conjunction with the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the African Union, International Fund for Agricultural Development, and other prominent stakeholders, the 3ADI focuses on facilitating and increasing private sector investment, initiating collaboration between programs to enhance developmental impacts, and to mobilize resources from domestic, regional, and international financial systems.

    Maintained by the Irrigated Rice Research Compendium (branch of IRRI), this site is a resource center for scientists, researchers, and students, and contains news, courses, conferences, and meetings on the site to enhance user understanding and collaboration.

  3. APAARI: Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions
    Members from Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, India, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, New Caledonia, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Vietnam, and Western Samoa.

  4. APHLIS: African Post Harvest Losses Information System
    APHLIS offers useful tools via a PHL calculator, which allows estimates to be downloaded by users as a spreadsheet, various other calculators related to production, yield, population, rainfall, etc., a user's guide to the system, and an interactive map.

  5. Asia-Pacific Consortium on Agricultural Biotechnology
    Part of APAARI, the APCoAB seeks to enhance the benefits of biotechnologies for sustainable agricultural development in the Asia-Pacific region. Site includes useful publications, databases, links to related organizations, news, and activities.

  6. Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research
    Provides books and publications online concerning Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, North Asia, South Asia, and Southern Africa.

  7. CIARD R.I.N.G. Portal
    Spanish, French, and Russian versions as well. A registry of information sources/services in agriculture.

  8. FAO Information Network on Post-harvest Operations
    French and Spanish versions as well. INPhO is a site designed and maintained by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, and is supported by GIZ and CIRAD. The site's purpose is to provide resources, technical data, and foster the exchange of information between different stakeholders in order to increase the activities and projects related to the post-harvest sector of tropical agricultural products. *NOTE: site has not been updated since 2003.

  9. FARA: Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa
    Website focuses on research and development of agriculture in Africa. Aids searching for documents, best practices and technologies for farmers, job vacancies, available grants, organizations and projects, international news items, and more.

  10. Food Processing and Post-Harvest Technology
    As part of the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region, this site offers numerous links to FFTC articles, book chapters, newsletter columns, extension bulletins, and information on practical technology.

  11. FORAGRO: Forum for the Americas on Agricultural Research and Technology Development
    English and Spanish. Focuses on research and development of regional agriculture and technology. Database for searching for documents in Spanish and English.

  12. GFAR: The Global Forum on Agricultural Research
    This forum started by stakeholders in agricultural research in 1996 has resulted in numerous regional forums that seek to aid in the conversation and discussion of agriculture.

  13. ICRISAT International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics
    Website includes magazines, links to publications, and contact information on various projects related to Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Headquarters in Hyderabad, India.

  14. International Development Research Centre
    French version as well. Provides research, databases on projects, publications, news, and contact information related to the topic of Agriculture and food security. Projects section is searchable by region, theme, and keyword.

  15. IRRI: International Rice Research Institute
    The IRRI is an organization dedicating to reducing poverty and hunger, improving rice farmer health, and ensuring environmental sustainability through research and partnerships.

  16. Mercy Corps Agriculture Division

  17. Natural Resources Institute
    NRI's mission is to provide distinctive, high quality and relevant research, consultancy, learning and advice in support of sustainable development, economic growth and poverty reduction. Working in partnership with development agencies, NRI contributes to pro-poor policy formulation and undertakes research and technical evaluations that underpin planning and investment decisions. NRI maintains strong links with private sector players and the intermediary organizations that represent them by identifying and exploiting economic opportunities for the poor in the natural resources sector. NRI became part of the University of Greenwich in May 1996 and specializes in research, consultancy and training in the management of natural resources. NRI works globally, with a focus on countries with less developed economies in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
